Meet Mish Mash Design

It’s been more than two months I visited The Demuirgic Man.
Wondering the reason why?
Well work pressure, serving the notice period, job-hunting and the list is endless. But now things are slowly getting back onto the right track and with that, I am back to the crafty corner of the blogging world.
Today I am excited to introduce you all to an internet friend. She is a dynamite of art and paintings and no doubt a gem of creativity and talent.
Meet The Mish Mash Design lady, Abhilasha Jain.

The MMD lady, Aby (that’s what she addresses her, when a close buddy mails/ messages her like I sign as Am) is a self taught artist and designer & jewellery merchandiser, currently residing in India (Mumbai). She makes high quality Hand painted Fashion & Home Decor Accessories.
In Abhilasha's words: "My work is my reflection although I am rooted and inspired towards Ethnic Indian & Tribal Lives."

The hand painted designs are "characteristically classic" with a modern touch, which would give your home a very warm and inviting feel.

Her home accessories include mostly Cushion covers...and Tote bags...

.....and many other stuffs like Table runners, Silk bags, Clutches, Sling pouches, Stoles, Kurtis & Tunics....

Her designs are diverse and range from Ethnic to tribal to artsy to quirky to doodling to fun and some are just so different (that those simply can’t be labelled into any category, huh).
Isn't she a Pandora box talents? I am sure you will also agree now.

A touch of India and its royal heritage in her cushion covers..

Every single product is a unique piece of art, hand-painted and is a combination of fabric and colour. Abhilasha uses organic cotton to silk for the base fabric and acrylic colours to paint her canvasy bags and cushion covers.

With a touch of mordernity, some of her recent works are worth a keepsake.

For the Joy of Book-reading

When I was in school, I came to possess my first book-mark, made out of a marriage invitation card... A bookmark commonly made of paper or card is used to keep the reader's place in a book and to enable the reader to return to it with ease- that's the definition for you. Today bookmarks are made from leather, metals like silver and brass, silk, wood and fabrics. These can be even clipped on a page with the aid of a page-flap. (I have a few of such clipping book-marks).

The origin of bookmark (as per literature) was sometime during the medieval period. Usually consisting of a small parchment strip attached to the edge of folio (or a piece of cord attached to headband), a bookmark served its purpose.

As the first printed books were quite rare and valuable, it was determined early on that something was needed to mark one's place in a book without causing its pages any harm. Some of the earliest bookmarks were used at the end of the sixteenth century, and Queen Elizabeth I was one of the first to own one. But I am sure she missed out on these creative bookmarks from the brand “Anandz Creation” for the simple fact: “With Anand Prakash, it has to be a creative masterpiece.”

Intricately-cut brass metal with a matching tassel, golden finish, lacquered- that’s the USP for Anand’s bookmarks.

His book marks are unique, one must agree these are “a beauty in your hands”, can be a thoughtful gift, and can be a timeless possession. Gift it to anyone who is a book-worm. I am sure they gonna love this priceless masterpiece.

The peacock paisley and the parrot are so beautiful..!

The butterfly, camel and elephant bookmarks... so tempting..!

These bookmarks are no ordinary bookmarks. They range from flowers, to  leaves, to birds to alphabets to stars and sun, even vehicles...!

 The famous Auto-rickshaw...

His creative house even has scooter and cycle bookmarks... Worth gifting to someone who loves and misses his old scooter or cycle..!

The language which is rustic, sweet to speak and hear, the language spoken and known by most of the Indians, our National Language ~ Hindi (aah, those Devnagari fonts remind me my school days).

From Gayatri Mantra, to Hindi alphabets to numbers... these are the latest from Anand's creative house. I am sure you will love to grab one customised for you with your name carved on it.
My favourite is this one~
The one which proudly says "Meri Kitaab" meaning "My Book"!

And this too- An Ethnic and classy bookmark with the famous Ficus Leaf...

These masterpieces range from 250- 500 INR and can be bought directly from Anand's Online Store.

Now that I am so tempted, I want to possess one or may be two of these for my books. But I am confused which one to pick from the series. Any suggestions?! :)
